About

Where are we? 1330 N. 185th St. in Shoreline, Wa. That's the corner of Ashworth Ave. N. and N. 185th. Or, if this helps, we are one block east of the 7-11 store on 185th. Additional parking is available at the 1222 Building. That's a short block from our front door and on the same side of the street. With an average of about 220 people on Sunday mornings Shoreline Covenant Church is large enough to provide a full assortment of ministries but small enough to maintain a family of faith feeling.

Because we value ministry to children and young people we provide Pioneer Clubs (Pre-K through 6th grade) and Sunday School classes, as well as choir ministries for grade-schoolers (Covenant Kids) and, Jr. High/Sr. High students . We have active Jr. High and Sr. High ministries and last summer we helped send many children and young people to a wonderful experience at summer camp.

We also understand the importance of encouraging adults in their walk of faith so we offer, among other things, a varied schedule of Sunday School classes, small group Bible study studies, choir, age group events and very active men's and women’s ministry.

Outreach to our world and community is another value. We support ministries and missionaries that bring God’s love to people in other cultures and nations. Locally we are actively involved in several ministries that help those in need.

Our Sunday morning worship is central to our life as a community of faith. Our worship experience is a blend of generations that emphasizes congregational participation in singing (contemporary and classic), Scripture, sharing of lives, and preaching. We are a blend of religious backgrounds such as Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Pentecostal, Roman Catholic and others as well as non-denominational..

We are part of The Evangelical Covenant Church , a denomination of about 700 churches represented in most states. We also belong to the North Pacific Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church which has about 30 Covenant churches in western Washington.

The Evangelical Covenant Church values historic statements of the Christian faith (like the Apostle’s Creed) but our most basic belief is “We accept the Bible as the word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct."

We affirm the following as central to our understanding of Christian faith -

  • the centrality of the word of God.
  • the necessity of the new birth.
  • a commitment to the whole mission of the Church.
  • a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.
  • the reality of freedom in Christ.

This is only a glimpse of who we are and what we are about. The best way to learn about us is to visit us on a Sunday for our 10am worship. So, consider yourself invited!
