Generally speaking, the Western evangelical church acknowledges that Satan exists, but rarely recognizes him when he shows up; after all, Paul says he masquerades as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). The Bible calls Satan by many different names. Each name has a slightly different meaning. The many names for Satan give a fuller picture of who Satan is and what he does. Happy New Year, right? We have a whole new year ahead of us, maybe we’ll get it right this time. Probably not.
