SCC Kids

Our mission for children at SCC is for each child to gather in a place where they feel safe, loved, and can meet Jesus; to grow in faith and knowledge of God; and to be encouraged that they are equipped to go and share God’s love.

Roots & Branches (K – 12th grades)
9-9:45am (September – May)

An engaging experience for kids and youth to learn side-by-side, build mentoring relationships, spark curiosity, and connect faith to everyday life. We learn about God, His love, and His creation through science, art, movement, and other creative pursuits.

Nursery Care (Infants – Preschool)
10am

Our nursery is staffed by caring, background-checked volunteers from our congregation. You are welcome to drop your little ones off at any time during the service, and you are always welcome to stay for a bit if it would help them (or you!) feel more comfortable.

We also have a Quiet Room/nursing room available next to the nursery. If the room is already occupied, an usher can direct you to another private space for nursing if desired.

Worship
10am

We welcome children in worship at SCC! Typically, children begin in worship with their families, then after a children’s message or blessing, they are invited to hang out in the Kids’ Spaces at the rear of the sanctuary. An activity, and sermon note worksheets for older kids, are available. Children are always welcome to stay with their families if they prefer.

For those who need some wiggle room, you are welcome to use the Kids’ Spaces throughout the service. You can also use the church foyer (where the service is live-streamed), or the Quiet Room/Nursing Space down the hall (if the room is occupied, an usher can help you find another private space for nursing if desired).

Wednesdays (Preschool – 5th Grades)
6:30-7:30pm
(September – May)

Wednesday Night Kids runs after our Wednesday night community dinner (so come early between 5:45-6:30pm if you’re hungry!). Kids meet with Pastor Sally and volunteers for music, games, time to connect and pray, and a Bible lesson. Kids’ program wraps up by 7:30pm, but children are welcome to stay for free play if parents and/or siblings are still in programs.

At SCC, we know people of all ages can share God’s love in our church and in the world! Kids participate in service like raising money for charitable causes; making blessing bags for church members to share with unhoused neighbors; joining intergenerational efforts like our neighborhood clean-ups; and even leading in worship on Sundays.

Christmas movie night. Tween bowling. VBS. Neighborhood play space. And more! Check out the calendar on our site or contact the church office for more info.
