Shoreline Covenant Church will welcome Pastor Ben Zabel as our new Lead Pastor on Sunday August 11th. Pastor Ben is moving to SCC with his family from South Dakota, where he has been the Lead Pastor for the past five years at Living Springs Covenant Church. He is a graduate of North Park University and North Park Theological Seminary. We are excited to share what makes SCC special with the Zabel family, and we look forward to learning from Pastor Ben’s teachings and growing in faith as a church.
If you met Pastor Ben during his visit in June you already know that he loves to engage with people and share about life with Jesus. Before serving at Living Springs, he used these gifts in camp and youth ministries and as a worship coordinator, and eventually decided to pursue ordination in the Covenant Church. Today he uses these gifts from the pulpit but also loves to engage outside the church, whether at the local coffee shop, on the sidelines of the soccer field, or through social media. In addition, he is a musician who is always playing or listening to worship songs as part of his spiritual walk.
As Pastor Ben gets to know the SCC congregation and the Shoreline community, he will also be transitioning his family into new surroundings. Dre has been married to Pastor Ben for twelve years and is looking forward to embracing Pacific Northwest culture, especially hiking. Together they enjoy parenting their four children and are always active, whether in church, sports, or community events. SCC is excited to welcome Pastor Ben, Dre, and family! We look forward to loving and serving God together.
